A little about us and our purpose:
TheYellowhook.com was started in 2009 with the intent on becoming a “go-to” resource for fellow anglers with an emphasis on the Maryland area and it's waters. TheYellowHook hopes to provide useful information and content in addition to an area where fishermen & fisherwomen alike can share their ideas, experiences, and expertise. Some feel that fishing is just a hobby where people sit around and waste hours of their lives drinking beer and drowning worms, but these people have most likely never experienced the intense heart pounding joy of the sight of a trout sucking down a dry fly, the sound of a trolling rig singing out yard after yard of line, or the early morning smell of baitfish, gulls, and salt. We welcome all who appreciate this pastime on any level from childhood fishing with a bobber for bluegill to big money off-shore tournament fishing.
The creators of this site make no claim to be fishing gods or even experts in the modes of fishing, but we promise to work with a true passion to provide the best experience possible for our users. We have firsthand experience for fishing for almost every species in the state of Maryland and others in various forms including freshwater/saltwater fishing from shore and boat, kayak fishing, trolling the bay, top water in both salt and freshwater, surf fishing, pier fishing, fly fishing, deep sea, off-shore, fishing the flats, ice fishing and the list goes on and on. This love for all forms of fishing has become a near obsession for us at TheYellowHook, which was the driving reason for the development of this site.
